My main love is the Blues. I grew up with rock and latin music, but I am really open and passionate to any kind of sound and rhythm that moves me. I don't really care much about genre, although I understand it makes things easier for the people who like to categorize. In the end music has been the language of all civilizations from the beginning of time.

Movies
I do like movies that surprise me. Most of the classic american, french and specially Italian. I love Italian movies. But I really like directors like Tarantino, Lynch, Wenders and the great americans from the 70's like Coppola, Scorcese, DePalma. I love movies. I guess I am not only a guy who likes to watch them but also to learn about them. About the history of moviemaking. Same with music.
Television
I am not much of a TV watcher. I like the movies on cable. I love vintage shows from the 60's & 70's. And of course Seinfeld.
Books
Mostly Latin American literature. I like poetry, Latin American poetry and a lot of what the Beat generation did. I like a lot of peruvian poets.
Heroes
I'd have to break them down into categories. Like in history, sports, film, comics, music.
Maybe I will in the future. Two people come to mind right away: Che Guevara & Mohammed Ali. Good start.
About me:
I am an artist. I was born in Lima,Peru but I've been living in New York City for the past 22 years. It has been quite an experience. Now it's really my hometown.
I work in different medias. I started as a painter, but I have done photography and Illustration as well as created Underground Comics. Lately I've been doing a lot of music. I guess I am a curious kind of person and I like to try new things. I am a perfectionist, so I try to master everything I do to the best of my abilities. Luckily I have been able to do the things I love most of my life.
Some of my work can be seen on the web:

Bernardo, I have been meaning to send you a compliment on what a fabulous page you have here. The picture of you with your collage of Rolling Stones and the picture of young Keith is great. and the sketch of Kurt Cobain. I could go on and on.... thanks for sharing this magic with us. Cheers, Alan
Hi Bernardo, As i will be off for the weekend, I already wish you A HAPPY BIRTHDAY and a wonderful weekend. Oh yes ... We're getting older and older ... but also better and better ;-) All the best - MARC

Thanks for writing. Yes, Cortazar is definitely one of my favorites as well. "Rayuela" was a life-changing book. I am a huge admirer of a lot of Latin American authors, most of whom I feel are very much neglected here in the States. They are not given the attention that they deserve (with the exception of a few, of course). They were all doing a lot of very interesting things. Extremely innovative. Maybe one day that will all change.
Thanks again! Great to hear from you. Hope you have a great day.
Hola Bernardo! Thanks so much for the add. I see you were born in Peru. Some of my favorite writers are Peruvian: Cesar Vallejo, Mario Vargas Llosa, Julio Ramon Ribeyro, Bryce...
