i personally think you should change your name because it is too similiar to an american band called Twelve Gauge Valentine who have been around since 2003. However i dont think the two names in question are very strong, especially "the hometown story" which sounds like a 90's indie/emo band. your best bet is to think of some more names, it needs to be catchy but not cliché.
dont change the name. those other names arent as catchy as 12 gauge alliance. its what you guys started as and just because you style has changed doesnt mean your name should.
i definately think you should stick with the name. it's catchy and unique rather than some of the titles these days that all sound the same seems like bands have just looked in a thesaurus for a slight variation on the previous guys headlining. so my vote is don't change it xx.
