Drawing on so many wide ranging influences, it's hard to pinpoint .12 Gauge's sound, which is a fusion of blues, mainstream rock, hard rock, metal and pop... The only way to know for sure is to just listen.
After erupting onto the scene two years ago, .12 Gauge are beginning to make waves in the Irish music industry, having recently competed in, and progressing to the final 20 of the prestigious Academy Battle of the Bands in Dublin, a nationwide search for talent that involves over 1,000 Irish bands.
Their explosive fusion of rock, blues and metal is a breath of fresh air in a market currently saturated with indie rock, pop, and "emo" music, drawing on influences that range from Guns 'n Roses to The Doors and Metallica to Led Zeppelin. Couple that original sound with their energetic live show and its no surprise that the band has been earning rave reviews from all angles of the industry.
Having recently returned from Poland, where they worked with award winning producer Tomasz Rogula, the band are at the moment gearing up for their first commercial release, expected to arrive in the coming months.
