12HORSE was formed in the fall of 1999 as a project of guitarist Shawn McCloskey & bassist Chris Carroll & Drummer Dominic Cole. 12HORSE's music has been compared to
bands as progressive as Rush & Kings X as southern sounding as Goverment Mule & ZZ Top
and as aggressive and melodic as System of a Down.
The band signed on with booking agents Mole Management & began to play around the Philadelphia, New York & Baltimore areas. Known for there long sets with a mix of originals & covers. The band began to pack clubs and started to be in more demand. With a growing fan base they recorded an Ep in 2000 12HORSE entitled "Live @ the Matthews". The band followed the successful live EP with a studio EP in September of 2002 entitled "In A Time of Drunk'n Horses" both recorded by engineer Dave Matthews. The two EP's have sold well over 5000 copies each since they have been available.
12HORSE had managed to not only reach the top of MP3's charts with several songs, but have also been played on over 1000 Internet radio stations and were downloaded over 27,425 times in 2003 alone. 12HORSE had also been voted Philadelphia's ....1 Original band twice on the national Barstar Poll(www.barstar.com).
12HORSE are currently seeking an indie label, and are
recording thier first full length album for release in 2007. To date
the band has been touring the Daytona, Fl., Atlanta, Ga, Durham, NC,
Baltimore, Md, Los Angeles, Ca & New York area's.
12HORSE are members of the Just Plain Folks Organization and
each year plays a Tri-State Songwriters Mini-tour With JPF.
JPF have Nominated 12HORSE for "Best Hard Rock Song "
of 2001 for thier single "Darkest Days" the band traveled to L.A.
to preform at the JPF showcase in Nov. of 2001 & 2002.
12HORSE in 2004 took a year off to rest and record other projects, in 2005 new dates and a tour are being played.
