The crew was formed back in 1988 while attending Beaubein Middle School on Detroit's west side.With influences like The Wizard,The Four Dwarves,the Techno and Hip-Hop movements as a whole, These youg Dj's would ultimatly help pioneer Detroit's dj battle/turntablist scene.Turntablism is manipulating records on turntables using techniques such as beatjuggling,scratching and cutting.As individuals and as a group, the 12 Tek Mob has etched their name in the hip-hop history books by assisting notable artist such as Eminem,D-12,Slum Village,Goodie Mob and countless others with studio session work and tour duties as dj's.But 12 Tek's out put so far has been primarily booty mix discs and a number of 12"inch records, including the Bounce dat azz series, plus the phenomenal Hoodrat and Ride 12"inch singles.
