12 Types is a composition workshop that is studying the method of composing using Anthony Braxton's "12 Language Types". The music we create is not Jazz and it is not "improvised music". These are compositions: structures built by the getting and setting of "musical variables". This workshop is ongoing and we expect to discover many things about how music works as well as new ways to use our instruments.
