Hey, what's up? I've spent the last 10 years of my life doing my best to learn from my mistakes, as well as the mistakes I've seen those closest to me make. I've had my share of difficulties. Some I've handled with grace, others-though not in a malicious way-I've handled rather selfishly. I always try to consider the feelings of others before I make a decision, but I realize now that it's about a balance...about learning to make decisions with your best or healthiest intentions in mind, while doing your best not to hurt or make life intentionally difficult for others. That's quite the conundrum. Usually, when a situation calls for a tough decision to be made, there are going to be people around you who are going to be hurt, upset, disappointed, or just plain pissed. But we have to remember that before we can be happy (in ANY type of relationship) with anyone else, we have to learn, then understand, that TRUE Happiness must first come from within. If we depend on someone or something else to make us happy, life is going to be filled with disappointment and hurt. And that goes the other way- We can't place upon ourselves the burden of making someone happy who doesn't want to BE happy. We can offer support, patience and love to them, but only so long as we are not placing our own happiness on the altar of sacrifice in the process. True, day to day happiness is a choice each person has to make FOR THEMSELVES. Be kind, generous and loving to those in need, but be careful not to become and enabler...someone who allows a person to exist in a state that is LESS than their Fullest potential by not allowing them to deal with, and then work through, their situations. Life is tough, and it's full of difficult choices. Search for that quite voice within...it's real, and it's there if you genuinely take a moment to listen. Remember to love yourself. We aren't perfect...none of us are, but it's our imperfections that make us unique! Have a great day!
