Aside from books on ancient Egypt and the Near East...my favorite fiction authors include Vince Flynn, Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child, Dean Koontz, James Patterson, Jeffery Dever, Thomas Harris, Patricia Cornwell, and Elizabeth Peters
Are you an Egyptian god or goddess? (cool pics)
You are Osiris. A god of the earth and vegetation, Osiris symbolized in his death the yearly drought and in his miraculous rebirth the periodic flooding of the Nile and the growth of grain. He was a god-king who was believed to have given Egypt civilization. He is the ultimate judge of the dead.Symbols: crook and flail, djed, White and Atef Crowns, bull, mummified form, throne, Bennu (phoenix)Cult Center: Abydos, Busiris and Heliopolis Take this quiz!
I'm too old to have heroes, aren't I? The closest I can come is the countless brilliant scholars who have worked so hard to help us to understand our ancient past and the great civilizations which preceded us in the distant past.

About me: Thanks for stopping by my page. I am a graphic designer by trade, but my true love is the study of ancient Egypt. I live in Chicago and am a docent at two museums there: the Field Museum of Natural History and the Oriental Institute. My preferred areas of study are Egyptian death and burial, and hieroglyphs. I also enjoy studying the other cultures of the ancient Near East. If you're interested in discussing ancient Egypt with like-minded people, there are three message boards I'd have to recommend:
And if you happen to be passing through Chicago and need something cultural to occupy your time, I'd recommend the two museums at which I volunteer as a docent:
