New York's 137 was originally forged in 1997 by vocalist / bass player Keith Baughman in the remote woodlands of Northern Michigan. A metal concoction consisting mainly of Sludge, Doom and a touch of Death became the eventual result. 137 has since issued a 5 track EP entitled ”Product Of The Environment,” a 4 track EP “Force Controlled Culture,” as well as numerous other compilations including a 7” split vinyl release with Cincinnati’s Elusive Travel. Since recording “Force Controlled Culture” 137, now consisting of Keith along with Mario DiMartino on drums and guitarists James Alexander & Andy Gudmunsen, has partnered with producer and label manager Doug White of Watchmen Records under a non-exclusive deal in which both parties hope to elevate the band’s success by signing to a label with strong distribution ability.
