Sounds Like
A thousand angels descended from heaven performing instrumental Holy music for you mere ungrateful mortals.
If you listen enough to the bands that influence 13 Strings, you'll soon start to notice that most of their songs are thinly veiled ripoffs of tasty riffs written by obscure bands that they hoped would never be noticed by their audience. Nevertheless, it's undeniable that the resulting music is as unique as their instrumentation. The moniker "13 Strings" was cleverly borne from the combination of the soaring melodies, funky grooves, and pristine harmonics of Justin's 7-string bass (clearly purchased to compensate for something) and the chunky rhythms, warm arpeggios, and jazzy riffs of Johann's 6-string acoustic (borrowed from a friend, clearly because he's too cheap to buy a new acoustic).
Math Lesson of the Day: 7 strings + 6 strings = 13 strings
13 Strings is reborne after a 15 month hiatus, when Justin and Johann forayed into the crazy world of heavy metal with the now defunct prog-rock leviathan, VedA. Once a popular favorite at Hot Java Cafe and sausage-heavy college parties, 13 Strings has sprung back into action and is currently working on a new catalogue of instrumental acoustic music with plans to play Southern California venues and cut a self-produced album. Whether they're serenading you in 7/8 or jamming a 12 bar blues chord progression (undoubtedly in E), 13 Strings is sure to amaze you with their uniqueness, their song-writing, their cuteness, and of course, with their ridiculously huge 7-string bass.
Check them out, and give them all of your money. If you don't, tiny evil monkeys will crawl into your pants at night and eat your testicles. And if you don't have testicles, they will attach someone else's testicles to your chin. Consider yourself warned.
