13th HOLE, a mixed French-Italian group [Rennes and Carpi], follower of a kind of American noise culture [Sonic Youth]. 5 albums, tours (UK, USA
New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Diego, Mexico / Tijuana,
Netherlands). They create a powerful music with heterogeneous as well as extreme compositions. After a series of concerts in France and a good press coverage, the group was invited by JOHN PEEL to record one of those famous "Peel sessions" broadcast on BBC one.
Today, 13th HOLE have lightened the sound of their compositions to leave more place to Isa's voice, that is close to PJ Harvey's or Kristin Hersch's.
13th HOLE diffuse a renewed charm, strange, uncomfortable still fascinating, they have kept the habit of flirting with melody and then to charge it with clashes of sound to make it more interesting.

Si la tendance initiée par la circulation informatique des données et le tissage de multiple réseaux underground se confirme, il sera constitué, à l'image de 13th Hole, d'une poignée de gens qui, à côté d'un mode de vie urbain et d'un métier dans le tertiaire, lâchera sa fureur et son énergie créative dans une formation libre, car émancipée de rapporter des capitaux sonnants et trébuchant à ses producteurs. Un groupe amateur au sens noble du terme, autrement dit indépendant des logiques industrielles et d'une rentabilité à courte échéance.
Groupe Franco-italien, 5 albums au compteur, des tournées (UK, USA New york, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Diego, Mexique/Tijuana, Hollande), une Peel session. 13th Hole fait partie de ces groupes discrets, avançant à son rythme, sans stress ni exubérance, sans trop se préoccuper des turbulences agitant le paysage musical. Ce qui n’empêche pas une continuité musicale entre les albums et une tranquille évolution.
