.... Villanelles are a rock band from Burlington, Vermont. Recently crowned “Best New Vermont Band” by the Vermont weekly newspaper Seven Days, the quartet spent most of the past year recording their much anticipated debut album while playing an impressive amount of high-energy shows. The band enjoys bringing their breezy and dynamic garage pop aesthetic to cities throughout Vermont and New England, and looks forward to playing farther from home. Villanelles is comprised of Tristan Baribeau on guitar, Evan Borden on bass, and brothers Zane and Seth Gundersen on piano and drums. Boasting a uniquely catchy self-titled album, recorded and produced by Burlington musician Ryan Cohen and mixed with the help of Burlington music genius Ryan Power, the band has played with the likes of California lo-fi stars WAVVES, as well as Vermonters and Sub Pop newcomers Happy Birthday. In spite of having just released their debut album, the band plans to release a new EP in the near future. They describe the 4 new songs as being much more “raw” than their debut, both in songwriting, style, and production. ....PRESS: ....
