KOUROSH MORADI.... Born in Guran, Kermanshah, Iran, Kourosh Moradi began studying tanbur at the early age of three with his father, legendary tanbur master, Ali Akbar Moradi. He also studied daf with the masters of the Yarsan Order and tombak with Ostad Hamid Moghadam. He has toured the world as percussionist with his father and other Kurdish and Persian master musicians, such as Hossein Omoumi, Madjid Derakhshani and Pejman Hadadi. Moradi has performed in highly acclaimed spaces and festivals throughout the world, including the Cantigas Do Maio Festival in Portugal (2003), World Festival of Sacred Music (2004) in Los Angeles with Mamak Khadem and the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco (2006).
