The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming
in from this time forth and even forever more.
Psalm 121:8
Does not Solomon acknowledge, Lord, I do not know how to go out or come in before this great people? Grant me therefore wisdom to judge rightly. Observe here that inchoate wisdom must summon perfect Wisdom. Does not Christ Jesus establish, To him who has shall be given, and from him who has not shall be taken away even that which he has? Recognize that little faith must marshal greater faith. Dust shall return to dust, and the spirit to God who gave it. Christ Jesus will call every work into judgment whether it be good or evil. Ask then of Yahweh the grace to say, Lord God, I am poor and needy. My heart is wounded within me. Preserve my going out and my coming in from this time forth and even forever more.
