Well, I just got another trail camera in the mail yesterday and same day... out in the field. It's an expensive hobby, eh? The next three weeks will be clutch for getting the boys on film. This guy's coming along nicely. He's a four year old this year. I have his shed from last year. He'll go in the 130's, maybe 140s. Hope you're pullin' off as many ticks as I am boys!
I saw bucks back in bachelor groups for the first time sunday morning. Five bucks came right through the yard at the cabin. Three of them were 3 year olds or better. I need to get my new sight dialed in.
So opening morning of MN rifle season, I shot at a buck that I've named tank. As a four year old, he's by far the largest bodied deer I've seen in that area. We guessed him 260 live weight and about 220-230 dressed (hence the name). After no blood or hair could be found and a restless winter, he finally showed himself a week ago at one of our Trophy Rocks. Needless to say, he'll be five years old this year, and he's not slipping away.
I know that sign...I saw it right before I climbed over your gate to chase that big gobbler down! Just kidding, but it is amazing how some people never seem to notice them! Best wishes, Eddie
