   Contacting Victor

    Victor's Interests
GeneralMovies and Science Fiction (I run the Video Room at the local science fiction convention in Winnipeg, KeyCon). Writing, yep. Politics, anti-war movements. The environment. Changing the world for the better.
MusicPretty much anything, from Beethoven to Lords of Acid. Lately I've been listening to a lot of Laurie Anderson. Whatever happened to Mick Taylor after he played briefly with the Rolling Stones?
MoviesWell, I don't really think we have room enough, do you? I enjoy all sorts of films, from Alfred Hitchcock to Takasi Miike to Antonioni to Mario Bava to the Coen Brothers. Sam Raimi, Rouban Mamoullian (?). I'll watch anything with a space ship.
TelevisionYes, I have one. House is good. Supernatural is ok. I don't watch any other series regularly, although I'll always check out Jon Stewart and South Park, and the Colbert Report too.
BooksIt has to be relevant to life. Please check out the Outsider Writers site. Of current, living poets, my favourites include Todd Moore and Misti Rainwater-Lites and Rob Plath. It is very hard to find the time to read a novel. Strange, I can always find the time to watch a movie. The last really good novel I read was "The Book of Mary" by Gail Sidonie Sobat (if I've spelled her name right).
HeroesI guess there are some. Not too many Silver Surfers in this world, tho. As for villains, there seem plenty to choose from, starting with the current President.

   Victor's Blurbs
About me:
I live in Winnipeg, Canada, allegedly the second coldest city on earth. Originally I got a My Space page because it was the only way I could electronically communicate with another writer. I find some of the swiftness of My Space both exhilerating and creepy. I'm too old for you, maybe I'm too old for me. I'm an aged hippy. I think that some of the young women who send me photos of themselves and write that they are horny are actually an old fat bald guy in Florida. I'm 61, married for 31 years. We have two children, and you can't date either one, you're not good enough. I've been a writer all my life, but only started to send out stuff seriously a year or so ago. Googling my name will come up with some hits. Lately I've been writing poetry, but I also write "flash fiction" and have been working on a graphic novel for years. I run a book review blog for the Outsider Writers (http://www.outsiderwriters.org), and am always looking for new books to review, and for new reviewers--for "alternative" or "underground" writing. I also have a personal blog about high blood pressure & me, "Adventures In Hypertension", at http://victorhypertension.blogspot.com. I've posted all the stuff on that blog onto my My Space blog.
Who I'd like to meet:
People who write fiction or poetry. Especially if they'd like some free advice about their work. People with questions about human rights. People with Hypertension.
