Original roots rock in the singer/songwriter tradition. The Morgansterns new LP is nearly complete. Quite possibly the greatest rock album of the 20-zero's.
Other highlights include recent national TV placements on NBC’s “E.R.” and MTV’s “Meet the Barkers,” The Morgansterns recently opened for Todd Rundgren, The New No. 2 (Dhani Harrison's band), and other folks.
Thank you very much The Morgansterns for the invitation to discover your beautiful music! I love "Midnight Bloom" and "California Comeback. " By the way, the 4 tunes are very pleasant to listen! You have a lot of talent!
In Your Head: “Bowie and Lou Reed take up cattle-farming…” "Piano, acoustic guitar and a twangy electric backed by solid, understated drums and bass. From the get-go one gets the impression that this is something in a vein of its own. 'No depression' meets alt-rock (not that it's such an unusual transition to make) is one attempt to sum up what's going on here. I dig the mix of very focused melodical elements with more whimsical, noisier parts which in conjunction with the slightly askew vocals sharpens the edge of an otherwise quite pretty tune with a catchy chorus and a decent production leaving room for the more 'crooked' stuff (like an out-of tune harmonica). What if David Bowie had moved to a mid-West cattle-ranch instead of going to Berlin? Might have done something like this, I gather....And, yea, it's a grower, too...." - Krishve, Aarhus, Jutland, Denmark
# Look At Me: “Graveyard bopping on the edge of town…” "This is one of the best songs I've heard on Garageband.com to date. The piano riff that starts the song off is really great. The singer is absolutely fantastic. His mixture of weird and melody is right up my alley. Great voice that makes you want to hang on every word. The lyrics are strange and menacing. The whole band is rocking and reeling its way to the edge of the earth. Everything comes together in that "loose in a tight" way that feels just right. Crazy Horse with an updated sound. It swings like crazy. I heard the song five times ... I want to marry you ...” – thrystero, Oslo, Norway
