Second place for them is still just "first loser" and they never get used to it. Aries tend to have lean, muscular builds which serves them well. The enjoy sports, and particularly sports that involve physical contact; such as soccer, hockey, rugby, football, martial arts, etc. Rams are hard headed, stubborn creatures who love impossible odds. They love the challenge of achieving something no one else can do. It's part of their aggressive natures. They can't help themselves. Backing down from a challenge, any challenge is just not going to happen. Their courage is evident at a young age, and often you'll find the adolescent Ram defending those who can't defend themselves. They have no problem with using humor to disarm a sticky situation, but if things escalate you can always count on a Ram to use whatever tools necessary to come out ahead. They're really quite fearless; but being fearless can be as much a weakness as it is a strength. Aries are forever jumping feet first into situations that are more dangerous than they realize. They're quick to climb tree's higher, run faster, swim farther and will accept almost any dare that more cautious children will turn down. (This might explain why so many young Rams injure their heads more than other children.) In fact, the best way to get a Ram (of any age) to do something, is to tell them not too. They view that as a challenge and immediately start plotting ways to do just exactly what they were told not to do. This fearlessness follows them into adulthood and turns them into great leaders. They grow to become inspirational men and women whose enthusiasm for life is contagious. People are just naturally drawn to their forceful natures. In fact, if you ever find yourself in an emergency situation, the best thing for you is to have a Ram at your side. They don't hesitate. They immediately spring into action and will do their best to get everyone to safety, even at the cost of their own life. Boredom is something that they cannot stand. They need to be constantly challenged or they will leave what they know behind and head off for the next great thing awaiting them over the horizon. Because they are such optimistic people, they never have any regrets starting over. They're confident that not only will things work out, but they'll work out for the better. Relationships can be somewhat tricky for the emotional Aries. They suffer from short bursts of extreme emotion all their life, and loved ones have to learn to simply let them blow off steam. Rams don't hold grudges or nurse hurt feelings; they just react in the moment and then let it go. They make great friends and spouses. They are very loyal, but need to feel like they are number one. It is hard for them to take a backseat to anyone, even to their own children. However they are very loyal and would willingly die for those that they love.
