    Dave Cifelli, currently a Jazz Studies major at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, has been studying the drums since the age of seven. He began his professional career around the age of 13, gigging steadily throughout the Philadelphia suburbs. Throughout high school Dave continued to work as a professional musician and was actively involved in his school music program. With his acceptance in the NJPAC Jazz For Teens program, Dave garnered experience playing with the best of his peers while studying with an array of New York City’s best jazz educators. Upon his acceptance to UArts, he moved to Center City Philadelphia to pursue a higher education in music. While in Philadelphia, Dave has worked with some of the cities best rising talent as well as many of its well-established veterans of the jazz scene, becoming a regular at Chris’ Jazz Cafe. Over the past two years, Dave has been recording with bassist Danny Ladd on his multi-disc project called "Ride That Riff". Currently, Dave is a student of Erik Johnson, and has also studied with Jim Paxson, Marc Dicciani, Tony DeNicola, Cheech Iero, as well as others. At school, Dave is responsible for the drum tech staff and while maintaining Dean’s List worthy grades as well a earning many merit scholarships and awards. Dave has also worked as a drum tech at the Modern Drummer Festival Weekend and has attended the Montreal Drum Fest and KoSA International Percussion Workshops. Dave was also the first runner-up in 2003 and 2005 for the Modern Drummer Magazine Undiscovered Drummer Contest in the under 18 category. ..
