Biography
Colorful Blac is a funk, soul, acoustic, pop band - highly sought after for their velvet, melodic harmonies and their loungy live performance style. Although being a professional band who has performed at regular and high-profile venues in the Melbourne/Gold Coast circuit and a popular choice for wedding/corporate events, the duo is essentially recognized by fans from all over the globe for their lively street performances on Melbourne's Bourke St.
Much like the effect of the pied piper, locals and tourists alike would stream towards their serenade and often those listening at a distance would witness the colorful duo churning out their finest performances whether it be for one or a hundred audience member, come hail or shine.
The pair has been together since 2004 and whilst steadfastly building a solid repertoire of cover performances to sustain their livelihood, they have been focusing all their energy on writing and arranging original material and mastering sound recording/mixing/engineering techniques via intensive self-schooling with the help of google, over the internet. Together, they put in tens of thousands of hours in research and development of their craft.
it's been a long toil, and having given up their family/social life and surviving on bare necessities and strong mutual support from each other for more than half a decade, their love-child is finally released in December, 2011. With songs about life, love and tales of simplicity, hard-work, integrity they tell of perspectives and ideas of overcoming hardships with truth and the lightness of being.
