The Return Of 14 Brickz:
"No Intro Needed, U Recognize The Voice"
Heads know about the
Brickz: Three razor sharp emcees who debuted ova a year ago and took the game by storm with their freshman mixtape effort:
Da Definition. Fresh, clever lyrics coupled with innovative beats,
Da Definition showcased
Da Brickz uncanny ability to mix gritty street material with the necessary mainstream flair and arguably became a street classic. So after achieving such an impressive feat early in their career only one question remains:
Fuck ya'll been at?
"Shit we been spending all this fucking money we made off the first album," laughs
H Dot aka Baines. "Nah honestly me personally I was uninspired with the whole game. The shit was boring. I felt we was the only niggas really doing it and nobody was fucking with us. I was content with the damage we did the first time."
"Niggas was unfocused," adds
Kham. "
Mac and
Baines decided they needed a break after the release of the first joint and I went hard solo."
So after a brief recess
H Dot and
Kham (
Mac is still serving hiatus) are back with their sophomore effort
Da Definition 2: Blame Kham. The meaning behind the sub-title is self-explanatory:
"Basically being dat
Kham almost masterminded the entire creation of D2 I felt that any nigga who couldn't wait for the Brickz' return, any nigga who didn't want us to return, anybody we may offend on this mixtape.....they can blame
Kham,"
H Dot explains.
Taking a more traditional mixtape approach for this project,
Da Definition 2 is almost filled entirely with
Da Brickz rhyming ova both new and classic beats. From the introspective
"LIFE?!" to the flamboyant
"Doors Knocked Down",
Blame Kham is a true example of not only quality music but well balanced material.
