    A schoolband in the late '70's. Were overlooked by the new punk phenomenom due to obvious lack of talent and credibility. Dispite an unparalleled work ethic nothing has changed. After a brief 18 year break they reformed with the original line up with Lem on Bass, Birdy on Guitar, Otto shouting but noticed they had no drummer or songwriter/ second guitar. Tox and Sticks were recruited and the sound was greatly improved, as was picked up in the popular music press. Extensive gigging in the West End of London followed and an international tour is planned (well, Tox and Sticks want to go to Amsterdam). 2012 saw the flight of Birdy and the landing of Toby and the new line-up immediately went into the studio to record "Let's get fucking pissed" and "Tamara Never Comes", then followed up with a near sell-out gig in The Dublin Castle ... onwards and upwards for the Fruit.

    Tox aka The Toxmiester. Dr Intoxification was a wasted talent - wasted, really wasted actually - hurrah. Six string, 4 String, 2 String, G String ... he don't care. Lem "The Length" a most accomplished Bassist of ill-repute. Toby joined in 2012 after the Bird had flown and completed the final line-up for The Grapefruit future. He operates the Fender Strat on the factory floor. Sticks La Roche - possibly the best drummer in the band. The last recruit and the loudest. Otto Pthrugg - What he lacks in talent he makes up for in trouser size. Something in the City, he thinks, but maybe not for long. What will his wife say then? By the way he's not a racist, ageist, fattist, sexist or any other "ist" or "phile" because he says so!!!

    Middle Aged Angst & Temptations ... We also went to see Lez Zeppelin and thought they were great!

In 2012 the Birdy flew and was replaced by Toby Burton (Pocket Rocket / Rock-Til-You-Drop) after recording some new tracks (Tamara Never Comes & Lets Get Fucking Pissed) and debut gig the new Grapefruit line-up is truly alive and literally kicking.

Lem "The Length" a most accomplished Bassist of ill-repute......Toby (Guitar and Backing Vocals) .... does he dance ... have you seen him ... no! .... well it's not for me to say really........Sticks La Roche - possibly the best drummer in the band. No longer the last recruit but still the loudest.......Otto (it's all about me) Pthrugg - What he lacks in talent he makes up for in trouser size. Influences:

Idiot Bankers, Women's parts, Cash, Religion in all it's guises, Obesity, in other words "what've you got!". We also went to see Lez Zeppelin and thought they were great!
