Draconian Winter was first conceived by Eligio and Chris in 2006. After becoming acquainted at school they started writing what was to become the demo that would be released in 2007. They recruited Daniel Larsen on drums. After securing a 6 piece line-up, many shows were played in Redwood City, including opening for Light This City, Antagonist, and Cerberus. This lineup changed in 2008 after the former vocalist was relieved of her duty. A year long hiatus followed as new songs were written and rehearsed.

2009 saw the return of the band, playing their first show with Eligio Tapia on vocals. After a successful show at the DNA Lounge for the first round of Gorilla Production's Battle of the Bands, the former keyboardist and bassist were removed from the line-up. A new lineup made its debut in December at the second round of the Battle of The Bands. Draconian Winter has stayed true to the original goal of making epic music with guitar solos and devoid of breakdowns and will continue to until all that can be created has been created. ..
