    Crew Community Church's Interests
GeneralIf you want to know about Crew Community Church, you really want to know what we are passionate about. We eat, drink, and sleep these values: * We are passionate about Christ’s fame. Everything we do is centered on loving Jesus Christ more than anything else. * We are committed to Spiritual Integrity. We desire for our lives to be models of right living and purity before both God and people. * We are motivated by Grace filled relationships. Since we have been changed by the forgiveness of God through Christ, we will seek to relate to one another and the world with this same mentality, attitude, and lifestyle. * We are faithful in Presenting Christ. We believe that Jesus Christ radically changes lives now and forever. We are always sharing that message. * We are inspired by Christ ward Worship. We want to show Christ as supremely valuable over everything else through our individual and group worship of Him. We stimulate our emotions while focusing on the Truth. * We are developing a Real Community. We want each of our crew to know and be known deeply. We want a place where relationships are developed, neighborhoods are being reached, and believers are growing to look like Jesus Christ.
MusicOur worship gatherings are designed to declare that Jesus Christ is the one we love most. We sing songs to and about God and we apply what the Bible says to us. We are always challenged, encouraged, and changed through this kind of worship. Our music is biblically accurate and our style is culturally relevant. Our worship band leads us in both ancient hymns and contemporary music. But worship is much more than music style, dress, or aesthetics. It is a coming together to focus on who God is and what He has called us to be.
TelevisionThe Treehouse is our worship experience especially designed for kids. Your children will have a blast as they learn all about the Bible and how to live it. Not only will they beg you to come back, but they will be cared for in a safe child friendly environment. Come, learn, and grow. Newborns and toddlers will be cared for in what we call The Sandbox by our qualified and loving nursery staff. » What can you expect for your child? As parents we know that not all children learn in the same way. We try to provide a variety of learning environments to meet the needs of each child. We will meet in both large and small groups. We also incorporate a variety of learning styles into our program. The Treehouse includes drama, music, storytelling, team activities, investigative work, problem solving and most importantly, relationship building between kids and group leaders. » Safety and Security We have been diligent to build safety into every aspect of The Treehouse. Below are just some of the features to insure the safety of your children: * Classrooms free of clutter with age appropriate toys * Children will always be in a group with more than one adult * Reference and Screening completed on all staff * Registration and pick-up with matching parent/child name tags * Notification system in theater to alert parents when needed * Infant toys are washed and sanitized after each use * Sick policy to protect your children’s health
BooksOur Belief (What We Believe) Let's start with what we believe. These are the bedrock truths that we stand on and go to the wall for. These statements are intended to summarize the basic doctrinal beliefs of our church. These statements are true according to the Bible. The Bible We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired, without mistake as originally written, and our final authority for faith and practice in the Christian life. (2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet. 2:20-21; Ps. 119:160) God We believe in one God who eternally exists in three distinct Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who are coequal in power and worth. (Matt. 28:19-20; 1 Pet. 1:2; 2 Cor. 13:14) Humanity We believe that mankind was created in God's image and had perfect relationship with God but as a result of disobedience suffered spiritual separation from God and physical death. We believe that all people are sinners by birth, nature, and choice and therefore separated from their Creator. (Gen. 1:27; Ps. 8; Isa. 59:1-2; Rom. 3:9-23) Jesus Christ We believe that Jesus Christ is God, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died a substitutionary death on a cross, was raised from the dead three days later, and ascended to the right hand of the Father in Heaven. (Jn. 1:1-5; Matt. 1:22-23; Heb. 4:14-15; Rom. 1:3-4; 1 Cor. 15:3-4; Acts 1:9-11) Salvation We believe that by God's grace, a person can be in right relationship with God by trusting in the Person and work of Jesus Christ by faith alone, apart from any kind of work. (Rom. 5:1; 6:23; Eph. 2:8-9; Titus 3:5) Holy Spirit We believe that the Holy Spirit is God and equal with both the Father and the Son. He is indwelling all believers, enabling them to live the Christian life, and empowering them for service. (2 Cor. 3:17; John 16:7-13; 1 Cor. 2:12; 3:16; Eph. 1:13) Christ's Return We believe in the imminent personal return of Jesus Christ to earth. (Titus 2:13; Matt. 25:31-34; 1 Thess. 5:1-11) Resurrection We believe in the bodily resurrection of all mankind. Those who are in relationship with God through Jesus Christ will be resurrected to eternal life, but those without a relationship with Jesus Christ will be resurrected to eternal judgment. (1 Cor. 15:22-26, 40-44, 50-58; John 3:36; Rev. 20:11-15)
HeroesJosh Perry, Teaching Pastor - josh@crewcommunity.org Josh Perry is the founder and teaching pastor at Crew Community Church. He grew up in Barboursville, right outside of Huntington. He is married to Sarah, the woman of his dreams. She is a full time wife and mother to their three children—Dan, Jack, and Alli Kate. Josh graduated from Marshall University with a B. S. in Nursing and Dallas Theological Seminary with a Masters Degree in Theology. Josh is all about going hard after Jesus Christ and seeing the Pittsburgh Pirates win a World Series before he dies! Call him or email him to set up a time to meet. Trust me he’s always looking for someone to talk to. Michael Bailey - Michael@CrewCommunity.org Michael Bailey is an attorney at the Barboursville law firm of Bailey & Howard, PLLC. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Rachel, who is a physical therapist by occupation, but who currently spends most of her time chasing around their 1-year old son, Caden. Mike graduated from WVU with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and also graduated from WVU Law School, thus explaining his love of the Mountaineers. Mike and Rachel helped plant a church in Charleston, West Virginia and have served in leadership positions at that church. They are excited to bring their experiences to Huntington to allow God to use them in establishing Crew as HIS beacon in the Huntington area. Jason Black - Jason@CrewCommunity.org Jason Black is currently a graduate student in the Physiology department of the Marshall University School of Medicine. He received his B.S. in Biochemistry at Ohio Northern University. He is scheduled to graduate with his Ph.D. in December 2006. He has several years of experience in leading Bible studies and small groups in church as well as on college campuses. He hopes one day to pursue astronomy as a hobby and he enjoys learning about nuclear physics. He enjoys traveling and hopes to one day visit all seven continents (three down four to go). He loves University of Kentucky basketball and Ohio State University football, but Marshall is a close second in both. He is still searching for the woman of his dreams. Jason is also the small group coordinator, as well as a small group leader in Crew Community Church. Chris Haddox - Chris@CrewCommunity.org Chris Haddox grew up in Winfield, WV (about a half hour east of Huntington). There he met and fell in love with his wife (yes, they are high school sweethearts!) Both went to WVU where they graduated, Chris with a degree in Computer Science and Sarah with a degree in Physical Therapy. Other than being a keyboard jockey (Computer Programmer) Chris enjoys using WV's wild and wonderful outdoors to go snowboarding, hunting, fishing and hopefully whitewater rafting sometime soon. Brian Patton - Brian@CrewCommunity.org Brian Patton is one of the elders of Crew Community Church. He has been a part of the church plant from it's early stages. He grew up in Barboursville, WV but also had the amazing experience of living in Ecuador, South America. He's married to Sunny, the most beautiful and funniest girl on the planet earth. He has many interests: Traveling, Film-Making, Guitar, Aviation, Marshall University Athletics, The Indiana Pacers, Photography, Web Design, and writing about himself in the 3rd person.

About me:
Crew Community is holding meetings in the Old Huntington High School, Renaissance Theater every Sunday morning at 10:30am. Directions? http://www.crewcommunity.org/directions.asp The mission of every local church is the same: make disciples (Matt. 28:19-20). A disciple is a fully devoted follower of Christ. The church is to develop believers like that. We don't decide what it is. We just do it. Here's what it says: “And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth." Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20) We have chosen to take that Commission and put it into a short memorable sentence: The mission of Crew Community Church is to pursue Christ with passion and present Christ with purpose.
