Bio
The Delta 72 began in 1994 in a basement in Wahington d.c . Gregg Foreman and Ben Azzara went to a Pawnshop and bought a Farfisa organ , and showed another housemate how to play some notes on the organ . Sarah Stolfa joined the line up . The band played their first show at the "More than a Music Festival" , somewhere in Ohio . Soon after , the band recruited local ex - Cupid Car Club bassist ; Kim Thompson . The band released the 1st 7" on Dischord/Kill Rock Stars ( the sole split on these labels) , and they toured the u.s . After getting some attention from labels , Ben left , and the band recorded 'The R&B of Membership" on Touch and Go , w/Jason Kourkounis(Mule)on drums . The band toured with Sonic Youth , Girls against Boys , Modest Mouse , The Donnas , Brainiac and Man or AstroMan . Then Kim left , and bassist Bruce Reckhan added his sound to the Bob Weston recorded ; "The Soul of a New Machine" . Soon after this Sarah Stolfa left to pursue photography , and Goats organ grinder ; Mark Boyce filled the line up out for the Royal Trux produced "000" . The tour line up was augmented with creative rooster haired guitar man ; Adam Cotheran . After some festivals with The Fall , Primal Scream and Einsterzinden Neubauten , the band broke up . Mainly due to some inner band problems . Jason went on to play with the Hot Snakes , Burning Brides and Scout Niblet . Bruce went on to play in local Phila bands . To my knowledge Mark Boyce joined some touring bands , and moved to L.A . Ben Azzara started a label and lives w/ his family in D.c . Gregg Foreman joined Cat Power, and continues to d.j(miami,Back Door Bamby, Plastik Fantastik.NYC,Misshapes,Ruff Club.Philadelphia,Hands and Knees) and do remixes with John Redden(Hands and Knees) . ........MySpace....Profile Editor.... .. .. .. .. .. -

IMAGINE THE FEELING OF KNOWING YOU "MADE IT" IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY How would that change your life? Or the life of those around you? I'LL LET YOU KNOW A SECRET; one of the main reasons main stream artist's are so successful is they have a great marketing team on their side. That's why you sometimes see "unknown" artist's with way more talent remain an unknown. They don't have a good marketing team working for them.

Thank you!
I'm not sure what I'm gonna do when my favorite 12 or 13 year old blue Delta 72 shirt finally bites the dust...fuck. Kinda like knowing your loyal dog will eventually roll over for the last time.
