About me:
Some people play in parking lots or tennis courts, some play in grass - We play on both, depending on whos plans it that week. In general, there are no out of bounds. All trees, rocks, sidewalks, and sewer caps are in play. Goal width is about 2 mallet lengths
You need a bike. We have community mallets and balls - we just roll like that - plus we can't rely on anyone else for shit.
How we play: We start out with with the ball in the middle teams on opposing ends, count down, and pretty much charge for the ball. this method seems to work and seems fair. If you score - good for you. Take the ball back to your end, and bring it back in to play kinda like half-court basketball. We play until one team has three glorious points and then start a new match by the whole "charging towards one another" thing i just mentioned
Some general rules: * You can’t score from behind the net but if youre behind it, you can pass back through it.
* Any way the ball goes in the goal counts - dont score on yourself. You can hit the ball with your bike or mallet but not your feet.
* No T-boning or T-bagging, that costs extra
* Your mallet can only touch the ball or another mallet - not another player or their bike. Stick on stick, stick on ball, or body on body. Hooking is allowed and encouraged...mostly by me
* No Foot Downs! If your foot touches the ground, don't touch the ball. Once you touch, stay out of the way until someone else touches the ball. Then you can resume playing. It takes a trained chimp about 5 minutes of playing to get the hang of the game. it shouldnt take you any longer. The rules make more sense after you get out and try it - i swear.
