About me:

Who am I... Well I collect Military surplus stuff to start with. I have two old Military Vehicles, A dodge 3/4 Ton truck and a Willys jeep, both from the Viet Nam era. I have a ham radio liscense "KI6EZA" and also collect Antique Military Radios. I am enlisted in the CA State Reserve and hold the rank of SGT (E5). I participate in Viet Nam reinactments using airsoft weapons, real Military Vehicles, and Miltiary Radios of the period. We do this to honor and remember our Vetrans and to never forget thier war against Communisim. I like trains. I like to watch real trains and build models of trains. Really I focus on Narrow Gage trains. 3ft between the rails rater than 4' 8.5" like you would see every where in the US today. My interest is the Denver and Rio Grande and the Rio Grande Southern, both from southwestern Colorado. Portions of the D&RGW still operate today as the Durango and Silverton RR as well as the Cumbres and Toltec RR. My modeling foucs of these two RRs is in about the mid 1940s. Some trains from these RRs are used at Knotts Berry Farm in Southern California, Walter Knott pruchased the trains from the two RRs in 1951 when the RRs didnt need the small locos any more. Walter Knott was building a replica Ghost Town and needed trains for it. I build models in O scale (1/4 inch scale) and HO (about 1/8th inch scale) I also like Logging RRs, Shay locomotives, and Mining RRs as well as modeling mines, Ghost Towns and other western stuff of the same genre. I am a prospector too. I go out to our claims and dig and pan for gold, processing it with water the way its been done by hand sine the 1800s. Yes I have found gold. Its fun but hard work.
