MJG currently runs his own label, MJG Muzik, through which he plans on developing and releasing music by his personal roster of artists... ..Hailing from the Orange Mound area of Memphis, MJG began his musical collaboration with 8Ball when the two were fellow students at Ridgeway Junior High. Their initial exposure on the mixtape circuit landed them their first record deal with Suave Records... ..Highly regarded in hip-hop as forerunners of the Southern rap movement, 8Ball & MJG’s first full-length album, ..Comin’ Out Hard.., helped popularize the “Dirty South” sound.
