Thomas's Interests
|
| General | Writing, reading (all kinds with an affinity for dark fantasy and noir thrillers), bars (La Cantada in paris) Motorcycling, movies, travels, Jura (Near Switzerland, my favourite place), cities like Paris, London, Amsterdam, Rio de Janeiro, Lisbon, learning other cultures, the usual bollocks | | Music | Fields of the Nephilim, industrial music, Future pop (from VNV Nation to Deine Lakaien), alt rock — Nick Cave, Cat Power… — Sapho, Diary of Dreams, Kate Bush, Covenant, New Model Army, QNTAL (Don't get me started on them…), sometimes punk or fits of good old blues. | | Movies | Dario Argento, Julio Medem, Claude Chabrol, "The Haunting", Peter Jackson (Seen all his movies in a theater from "Bad Taste" onward, how is that ? :), Italian Gialli, "27 kisses", lots and lots of things. Also a taste for genre B-movies, mostly horror. | | Television | Not a lot, thanks… | | Books | Too many to mention ! | | Heroes | Mostly daily life heroes, people who go through life and reserves the right to think no matter what the crap that is being fed us. In our days, when any airhead can get on tee-vee, that's heroic enough ! |

Thomas's Blurbs |
About me:
I was born on the 22 of october. I'll never do it again, I swear.
Writer under the pen name of Patrick Eris (For whoever might care, a bibliography is here : http://nemo.club.fr/eris.html), professionnal translator, screenwriter and playright, anthologist, lyricist (For the French Naheulband and Ad Vitam Aeternam and countless others who never made it to CD), singer with my band Mnemosyne and hopefully some others if the opportunity arises. With a friend, we recently launched our small press imprint http://www.ed-malpertuis.com/index.html. Currently working on a lengthy historical/fantasy novel about the crusades and another thriller set in the seventies. It's hard work, but as Mrs De gaulle said in 1940, watching her husband leaving for London : At least, it keeps him off the streets…

Who I'd like to meet:
Very hard to say, because it would mean I'd have something intelligent to tell to those people ! Instead I'll name the great people I had the honor to meet in or out of my work, like Graham Masterton, Stephen Laws (Promise I'll never confuse you with Stephen Gallagher again !), Storm Constantine, Stephen Gallagher, Graham Joyce (A great week-end in Paris, too long ago…), Joolz Denby (Thanks for the hat !), Douglas Winter, Dennis Etchison (Argento rules !), Tim Powers (Have you finally bought a Honda ?), all the numerous people I ever met at the British Fantasy Society's convention, famous or not (Di, Peter, the fantasy Inn — RIP — crew, I haven't forgotten you guys !) and a bunch of French writers you never heard about ; on the movies side, Dario "Il maestro forever" Argento, Tcheky Karyo (Remember, I am the professionnal of amateurism !), Michele Soavi (I knew Munchausen's "Death" was yours !!!), recently JJ Beinex (Apologies for stealing your line !). Amongtst mucician, the guys from Anathema and Danny (When shall we finally jam ?), Erk and Aircrag from Hocico (Our movie project is still going on, mail me !), Alexander Veljanov (Your French is great, hope you read this some day ! I still have the Ghent photos !), Syrah and Michael from QNTAL, Justin Sullivan, Cut Rate box (Great show, too bad nobody showed up !), Adrian Hates, Darren from Psyche (You''re playing France this year at last !), Amadou and folks from Collapse, Mike from Antimatter (Send me a story, I'm an editor again !), Ronan and Mick from VNV Nation (So you like Paris, huh ?), Bruno Kramm from Das Ich (Some bastard from Elegy took off the "Destillat" quote from my story in Elegy !), Franz from The Young gods and certainly many more last time I'll check… I'd really like to meet Brian Hodge, a great writer with whom I just corresponded with (and translated) and who gave me the urge to write short stories again…
