River's Blurbs |
About me:
I'm a handsome, 4 year old, short haired cowcat. I was living on the streets, chowing down with a group of scaredy cats. A lady brought me to a shelter because I'm a nice guy. They gave me "the operation" (you know the one), and while they were taking care of me they discovered I had FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus). Although I plan on living a full, healthy life, my FIV+ status means I have to stay indoors. Don't worry, I can't give it to you, your family, or any other animal except another cat. And it's not easy to spread FIV. I'd have to be in a big fight with penetrating bite wounds, and that's not my style. Anyway, I was at the shelter for a LONG time, and boy, was I sad. Then, a nice man adopted me and I thought I had my forever home. But after a few months, the man lost HIS home. Lucky for me, he found me a safe place to stay. Now I'm in a foster home, which isn't so bad. I've got my own room, and my own computer. But there are other cats in the house, and I've heard that one is a "naughty little biter." So it isn't safe for me out there. I'd sure love a home to call my own. A forever home this time.

Who I'd like to meet:
A man, woman, or family with a nicely working can opener. Someone who isn't afraid to scoop the poop, and is handy with a lint roller. I need an indoor place to rest my paws, with no other cats. I'd consider a home with docile felines...I'm a lover, not a fighter. I also tolerate friendly, gentle dogs. Someone who understands that I can live a long, healthy life if I have good food, a safe place to stay, and lots of love. Also, I'm not much of a traveler, so I'd like to stay within a couple of hours drive from Connecticut.
