SCHOOLS ARE WATCHING THE JAM 4 AWARENESS DVD

Jam 4 Awareness is a series of live music concerts that allow the opportunity for students to participate in an educational program and music event.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES OF JAM 4 AWARENESS:

To deliver a social awareness and music program to High Schools by using both Government and Non-Government services to engage students and raise the awareness of important societal issues. The various discussions are delivered in a structured & educational format.

SCHOOL’S INVOLVEMENT ON THE DAY

- The Band arrives at the school hall in the morning with a production team to set up the musical equipment and PA system. - We would ask the school that they allow 1 hour for the event and coordinate an appropriate time for the event... - When students are assembled in the hall, a qualified guest speaker presents a discussion on a particular social issue for about 15-20 minutes... - After the discussion the band is introduced and do their performance. Depending on the performing band, they may decide to have CD Give-aways, T-Shirts or other merchandise for the students... - After the concert, the production team and band need about 1 hour to pack their equipment up and leave the premises. (Teachers can elect to permit students to seek autographs from the bands at the completion of the event if deemed appropriate). Please note: This would also require teachers’ supervision...

Schools can choose a variety of topics to learn about on the day of Jam 4 Awareness. The guest speakers come highly recommended and are considered expert in their field. The topics are structured in such a way that they are not sensitive in nature, and provide opportunities for students to learn life skills with an emphases on community, social interaction and understanding that entertainment can also be a valuable learning experience in terms of the way the messages are delivered to students...
