I like recording crap with my PVR (ReplayTV, it's like a TiVo). Usually stuff on channels like The Science Channel, Fox News Channel, History Channel, and National Geographic Channel. Especially Nova, Carl Sagan's Cosmos, and Brian Greene's The Elegant Universe.
However, I can usually be found watching mindless TV with friends and family like football and reality shows, so hopefully I'm not TOO big of a dork! ;)

About me: I'm a guy with what many would consider a pretty simple boring life. I have a website that was featured worldwide last year on a television show on BBC News and BBC World, as well as Wired Magazine, the LA Times, and other publications. It's a DMOZ "best of the internet" featured site. I was also the co-author of a June 2006 cover article of Servo Magazine.
I'm a graduate student at Stanford University. I'm here for my Master's in Computer Science with a specialization in Software Theory. I'm very happy to be attending Stanford; it's a goal I've had for many years now. (It's the #1 ranked school in the world for Computer Science!) I enjoy playing Team Fortress 2 and Battlefield 2 during my free time.
Battlefield 2:
As I've mentioned, I enjoy playing Battlefield 2 during my free time. In the game, I'm Lieutenant General DooM-Avalanche. Statistically, I'm the #2 ranked attack helicopter pilot/gunner in the world and my buddy kojimab is the #1 ranked attack helicopter gunner in the world. We tend to get banned a lot when we fly together as co-pilots! We wreak havoc and it's a disaster for all the people on the server we play on! I also have a proclivity towards unfairly slaughtering people in a J-10 fighter jet or groundpounding people into the ground as a medic whore. ;) If you play BF2, you know what I'm talking about! Fighting chance... !DENIED! It's not uncommon for me to finish games with 90 kills and 0 deaths or with hundreds of teamwork points above the second place guy on 64 man servers.
I play competitive online computer games semi-professionally. I've won a few side tournaments at the Cyberathlete Professional League (eg, Unreal Tournament 2003) and at Quakecon (eg, Doom 3) hosted in Dallas every summer for lots of cash, prizes, and computer systems. Dennis Fong even won a $110,000 Ferarri 328!

well this weekend was interesting. i went out with friends friday night and had a blast, then came home and got a call from mr. purple (thomas) at 6 a.m. we argued on the phone for 4 1/2 hours. i'm not sure the meaning of the call, but i think it was to tell me every horrible thing he could think of, including how he is going to fuck the girl who works next to him. so yeah, it's definately over. didn't do anything that night, but went to a bbq on sunday, funny enough they were his friends and invited me but not him. i win!
haha. that was cute. i guess it doesn't say much for girls, but it was funny. well i guess me and thomas (mr. p) are officially not talking anymore. he text me that he wants to be friends, but he doesn't plan on calling me anytime soon. ugh. i'm so done with the situation. i also noticed that he deleted ALL of the voogru people from his friends list. he acts like a 14 yr old. so what's new with you? plans for the weekend?
Nothing exciting... Interdisciplinary studies. after switching from Nursing I had soooo many hours, I just picked something that would be the fast to get my BA. I actually found a masters program in it that doesn't require the GRE or a thesis.
Oh work isn't my thing at the time :) I go to UTD.... trying to finish up... hopefully in December :) I work part time at Stretch-N-Grow teaching youth fitness.
haha well it was jungle orchestra there was like a BUTTFUCK load of people, we have 3 orchestra classes in our school. so we combined them all AND all 3 of the band classes and percussion lol. So yeah the viola's would normally be in the general area where i was i guess but in this case there were so many violins that they were pushed even farther to the right lol
