Brian Fitzy

Brian 'Fitzy' Fitzgerald is a musician based in the Philadelphia area, working in a variety of settings and genres - most notably on the electric violin. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Instrumental Music Performance major on violin from West Chester University in PA in 2007 and has since worked/played professionally.

Besides public (bars, clubs, theaters, festivals) and private gigging, he has performed on Philadelphia's NBC 10, Wilmington, DE's 93.7FM WSTW, and on 93.3FM WMMR's Preston & Steve Show, and garnered attention from other Philly media outlets. In 2008, as a top 3 finalist in the My Grammy Moment competition, he performed on national television with the Foo Fighters at the 50th Grammy Awards under the direction of John Paul Jones. Brian has also performed with Trans-Siberian Orchestra founder Mark Wood. Fitzgerald's eclectic rock group, Leaving Cash, has received exposure, support, and praise on TV and radio stations in Philadelphia and in other cities including Delaware's 93.7FM WSTW and State College's 105.9 JOE-FM. In 2010 he toured heavily with Irish folk/rock band Ceann and produced & engineered their final album, Last Ones Standing. Fitzgerald also keeps busy with his multi-genre ensemble, the Brian Fitzy Trio, appearing on occasion with various augmentations. In addition to performing everything from jazz and funk to hip hop and R&B around the greater-Philadelphia area, the trio also runs a weekly jam session in University City, Philadelphia.

A multi-instrumentalist/singer/rapper, Brian has done session work in all styles/genres for numerous producers, bands, and singer/songwriters, been a part of many mixtapes, and is always actively engaged in finding new endeavors -- especially challenging projects. In addition to being a working violinist, guitarist, vocalist, drummer, arranger and composer, he spends time in his own studio as an engineer and producer.
