I LIKE: racing... smiling... music... the color pink even though it is girly...butterflies... frogs... reading a good book outside on a nice day... the HLP... good ole' times at the lake... a good campfire... great Italian food... cowboys (or really any guy in a cowboy hat)... jewelry... bright printed luggage... taking pretty landscape pictures... my truck... laughing so hard, for so long that you may pee your pants... collecting odd things... the feeling of clean sheets... open windows on a warm day... being color coordinated... making things out of nothing... text messaging... getting old fashioned mail... surprising people... margaritas... colorful pens... the serenity of fishing (not so much the actual fishing)... watching fireflies... playing in the garden... hearing old stories... inspiring children... trying to play piano... shopping on ebay... sewing... doing other people's hair... stuffed animals... burning candles at night... listening to music all day long... playing catch... walking the beach while looking for shells... listening to the waves crash while I sleep... listening to a baseball game on the radio... coloring... sticky notes... candid shots of friends and family... having candles on your birthday cake... walking instead of driving... beanie pillows... the smell of the dryer vent... old time country music... a song that tells a story...
I HATE: going to the dentist... fake people... station wagons/ crossovers... being disorganized... when people try to mess with things they shouldn't be involved in... talking on the phone (rather do it in person)... the word like used the wrong way... the smell of worms when it rains... birds of any kind... the girl from the Ring... mixing black and brown together... channel surfers... the smell of green dry erase markers (LOL)... coffee... when you lay down and can't fall asleep... shaving my legs... being told how to do something I already know how to do... flying in planes... getting change back... the taste of pennys... seafood... people trying to analyze others...
Music
Music seems to be the underlying current to my life. If I had a soundtrack, it would probably be a 2 or 3 CDer. I tend to associate songs with events in my life... I guess that is what the songs are for.
I love me some country music, along with anything that may come near the genre... bluegrass, folk, etc. My favs... Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Big & Rich, Taylor Swift...
I also like alternative rock... don't ask how this comes into play... I just like it.
Classical is always a staple... studied it for a long time, learned to love it.
I don't like rap, or most pop music...don't want to start a war or anything, but a lot of it is not music!
I believe that you don't truly know what kind of music you like until you can stop letting society make choices for you. I am a perfect example of this... I grew up listening to country, but never did in high school because it wasn't "cool". Now... well I know what I like!
Movies
I am not a huge movie person... don't really like going to the theater... rather watch it on my own tv, from my own couch.
Disney movies are my favorite... I know all of them, and love all of them. While subbing, I have learned that parents today don't show their children any of the old Disney movies such as Mary Poppins, Snow White, even Lion King... this is sad. People wonder what is wrong with the youth of America... this may well be it!!
I am one of those people who could make a video library of 50 or so movies, and watch only those for the rest of my life... that wouldn't bother me on bit!
Television
I am one of those people who has a week of tv scheduled, and the writers strike killed me! I love reality tv, especially the Real World. Love ER, and Ghost Hunters too!
I can't get enough of the old tv shows either... Home Improvement, Fresh Prince, Saved by the Bell... it makes me feel old that they come on Nick-at-Night!!
Books
I LOVE TO READ!! You can always catch me with a book in hand. My favorite books list could take up sheets of paper... but I will give you my top few... The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova (thanks Eric... I would definitely recommend to anyone!), anything by Dan Brown, the Harry Potter series, many children's books too!
Heroes
I have two true heroes:
One would be Dale Earnhardt Sr. He is proof that people can make it big even when they come from nothing. Many people who aren't around racing may laugh at that, but I don't think you can until you have tried to learn about him.
My other hero is my mother. She is a breast cancer survivor, and is amazingly strong. While she was sick, many people didn't even know because she hadn't changed. Watching her makes me feel more confident because I know, if anything bad happens, I have someone to teach me to deal with it.

About me: I graduated from EMU about a year ago with my teaching degree... very excited to be done... not so excited to not have a job! Finding a teaching job in Michigan is nearly non-existent, thus the reason I may have to move. I do love teaching, and am currently subbing nearly everyday until I find a permanent job.
I am an avid race fan! Dale Earnhardt Jr. will always be my driver, no matter where he races! I don't know what I would do without racing except for have a lot of spare time!
While not watching racing, I am usually found watching the Tigers, or hanging out at the lake. If I had to choose one place to be for the rest of my life, I would choose the lake. Most of you wouldn't understand... just trust me!
Who I'd like to meet: On top of that list would of course be Dale Earnhardt Jr. He is one of the only people I would go out of my way to meet... for everyone else... if I meet you, I meet you; if not, oh well!
