Most of you would be surprised to know that I nearly became a nun and entered a Benedictine monastery a few years ago. Once in a great while I wonder how my life would be different if I had done so, but most of the time I'm very glad that I stayed *in the world!*
Music
Prince (HOT!!), Tom Petty, Bruce Hornsby, Beatles, Stones, other classic rock stars.
Movies
Animal House, Gone With The Wind, The Hunt for Red October, Dr. Zhivago, Star Wars, and the various Star Trek movies.
Television
"24", Grey's Anatomy, The Unit, Desperate Housewives, PTI, Star Trek (especially the Next Generation), stuff on the History Channel.
I also really liked "Greek," the new program on ABC about the trials and adventures of a geeky engineering student pledging a fraternity. Watching that program makes me want to jump back in time and relive my sorority life. Hope it gets renewed!
Books
The one I'm working on now--stay tuned!

None right now, as my earlier heroes have proven to be anything but!

About me: I must be one of the last people on earth to sign up with My Space! Although I maintain an online presence at BlogSpot and iWeb, I've started a page here because I think MySpace offers more visibility than the other sites. You'll see by my picture that I'm a runner. That said, I'm much more a "plodder" right now, as moving and school seriously interfered with my training schedule during the spring and early summer. I'm only now getting back to a daily exercise routine, and it remains to be seen whether I can maintain it once fall classes resume.
I tranferred to ODU this summer upon completing most of my math and science prerequisites at Thomas Nelson CC. I moved to Norfolk just after spring semester finals, and barely finished unpacking before starting Organic Chemistry, my last prep class before beginning my Medical Technology curriculum in the fall. I did the best I could in O. Chem, but I'll never be a chemist! That said, I think O. Chem prepared me for succeeding in the Med Lab curriculum, where *all* of the classes will include lab work which augments the classroom lectures.
Since the summer session "semesters" were only five weeks long, I went to the beach and generally relaxed before school started in September. Unfortunately, since school started, I've been way to busy to do much else than study and go to school. Hopefully that will change next semester.
In closing, I'll do my best to keep this page updated periodically, and I look forward to talking with folks as they have time. Have a great day!
Who I'd like to meet: Those luminaries slumbering through their eternal "dirt nap" are Queen Elizabeth I, Mark Twain, and Samuel Stratton (my "gateway" ancestor who emigrated to Massachusetts Bay in the 1640s).
Live folks include Sean Connery, Omar Sharif (OK, I know I'm dating myself), and Kiefer Sutherland (go Jack Bauer!!). I'm not otherwise into "guru" worship, although I *will* admit to a crush on George Michael way back when--I guess my "gaydar" wasn't working back then!
Hey Jean! How's the rotation going? I have one more week of Hematology. It's going pretty well. I like it. I've already gotten job offers from the hospital! I'm not looking forward to the final though...it's a Coleman final, so you know it ain't going to make any sense! Good luck!
