  • Bio

Born and raised in and around some of the best bands to come out of Reno Nevada, 1618 is a collaboration of people from all different backgrounds and walks of life coming together to do what they love most in life - Music - Our Full length album is out now entitled "From This Day Forward" and you can pick it up from us at our shows or from your favorite online distro's such as Interpunk, RevHQ, and Very. We are here to write music that captures even the faintest of hearts, and make each and every one of our listeners want to be part of something that is bigger than our narcissistic selves... Here is a review to let you know a bit more about us out of RenoTahoeTonight magazine - "Freshly signed to the Japanese label Retribution Network to release their impressive debut From This Day Forward, Reno’s indie standouts 1618 aim to forge their own path. With lyrics bordering on the Tony Robbins level of motivational aphorisms--spoken, sung or screamed over upbeat rock riffage, melodic swirling guitar work, driving bass lines and Jevan Burchfield’s precise drumming--1618 gives you something musically unique, with lyrics that are always evocative. There’s more message than menace in vocalist-lyricist Brandon McGrath’s politically-minded, forward thinking polemics, ranging from angry political rhetoric to inspirational admonishments. Guitarist Danny Galecki draws influence from such progressive hardcore acts as Refused, underappreciated hook masters Samiam, and legendary NY heavies Snapcase, while adding his own, very unique style. The tracks on From This Day Forward are massive songs, polished but not overproduced, by turn's pretty, hooky, and monstrously groovy. "Whatever you love, whatever you do/Be the champion, and see it through," screams McGrath in the climax of "Champion." 1618 have done just that. .... .... .... .... ........ ..
