We book bands we dig, we try to book bands the kids dig. We don't book bands with divisive, destructive cultural and social outlooks (i. e. bands advocating racist, sexist, homophobic hate speech, or religious zealotry). We're all about saying whatever the hell you want, but being open minded does not mean lacking a social compass and promoting ideas one finds morally repugnant. Ideally, 1624 is a place where everybody can have fun, hear rad music, thrash, and feel safe doing so. We're a block away from the skatepark and have a beautiful view of the romantic Ft. Wayne downtown skyline. In order to make this a sustainable venue, 1624 is, and has always been, drug and alcohol free. From experience, nothing kills an all ages spot faster than 15 year olds with beer and nothing ruins a good show faster than 30 year olds with beer. For those who disagree, go rebel like yer mom and dad and get a minivan when you're over this whole punk rock phase. See you at the show.
