  • General

    Sports and writing. I love football. During the NFL season, that's all I do. Watch football. I also watch tennis, some basketball, hockey at times, some baseball, and just about anything but golf (boring) and ping pong (ping pong players look as if they go through periodic weird muscle spasms. strange fuckin' sport if you ask me.) I play tennis, and lacrosse. I swim, lift, attempt to play basketball, used to play netball, fence a little, try to snowboard, can scuba dive.... you get the picture. Name me a sport, chances are I've played it or would like to try. Aside from the sports mania, I read a lot. And I like to write. I dabble in fiction writing, and would like to put out a book someday, but then doesn't everyone and their mom all want to do that? So if it happens, it happens.... what else.... movies... yes, mentioned that already. And some drinking's fun too, though I'm a lightweight. Which really doesn't work out that badly because it just means that I'm a cheap drunk! haha.

    Green Day, the Format, Jason Mraz, James Blunt, Anna Nalick, Rocky Votolato, some Linkin Park, Joseph Arthur, Jack Johnson, Michelle Branch, Ani DiFranco, KT Tunstall, Colbie whatsherface, Chris Pureka, Catie Curtis, Tristan Prettyman, Missy Higgins, Brandi Carlile some Kanye, and the regular mix of RnB/Hiphop that they play in clubs. Danceable shit that I know I like, but have no clue as to titles or artists.

  • Movies

    A League of Their Own, Wicker Park, A Few Good Men, Saving Face, Bend it Like Beckham, and most things with Jessica Biel in it. Aesthetic value.

  • Television

    Sportscenter, Grey's Anatomy, The L Word, Prison Break, Law and Order SVU... I really don't have the attention span for extended hours of TV. Unless it's a social event and becomes something I do with friends.

  • Books

    In terms of genre, my tastes range toward thrillers, historical fiction and some sci fi (not to be confused with fantasy. Dragons are lame.) I can't read fluffy romance shit or chick lit. That stuff can't hold my attention span. I need action. That said, I like Christopher Buckley, Jasper Fforde, Ridley Pearson, David Weber, Lucian K. Truscott, Emma Donoghue, Sarah Waters, John Jakes.

About me:

Let's see... I have trouble sitting still, always like to be doing stuff, and on that note, am always up for random adventures -- as long as they're within the constraints of my currently insane work schedule. I like, amongst other things, watching thunderstorms, writing, curling up on my recliner with a good book, tennis in the sun on a spring day, working out, falling on my ass in fresh powder on some mountain, hanging out with people I enjoy, conversations... intelligent ones that leave you feeling like you either learned something about yourself, the world, or someone else. (I would write that the world is my oyster, but that of course would be too much of a cliche for the writer to state without getting all flustered about her perceived lack of creativity. Hence the parentheses...)

    Ahh, it's only a couple days away! Of course I will send pictures, but you'll have to wait a while b/c we're going on our honeymoon right afterwards and then I have about a week to put out an entire month's section...
    And no, I'm not taking Matt's name. I think it's weird and arcane to have to change your name just because you have girly parts. Matt's not happy about it, but whatever. I figure if it becomes a problem later, I can always change it then. But if I did, I would just drop the other two. Oh, and the kids are getting his last name. I figure that's good enough.

    So I got this really amazing dictionary today, the "provenance" of such thoughtfulness is absolutely amazing. I think someone that indulges my ridiculous fascinations is somewhat incredible. Do you know what "Pander" actually means? I do, I looked it up in my new dictionary....I kinda laughed a little.
