  • Bio

.. ..Formed in the summer of 2008, Elephants have built their sound around a do or die ethic and a now or never attitude. Combine this with a love of pop music and elephants are concentrating their efforts into writting future indie pop anthems. Songs full of sing along choruses and lyrics that tug at your heart strings. ..In such a short time Elephants were signed within 6 months and released debut EP Lions and followed it up with the single Alexander. Both the EP and single gained praise from Radio 1, XFM, Kerrang Radio and plenty of others. Steve Lamacq called Elephants 'Ones to Watch' in 2009, they did a Maida Vale session for Huw Stephens and were chosen to play the BBC Introducing stage at Radio 1's One Big Weekend in Swindon in May 2009. In the closing stages of 2009 Nick Grimshaw also became a fan of the mighty Elephants. ..Having just finished a co-headline tour with Stagecoach (which resulted in both bands having brushes with the law), Elephants are now looking forward to their next single release on a shiny label in May, so 2010 looks like a big year already. Priding themselves on an intense live show which has at times descended into chaos and fights, it's worth catching Elephants next time they stampede your town and hang on to your hats. .... ...."alexander (resurected) is a polyrythmic masterpiece!".. ..Andy Burrows.. ...."Raw energy and passion are central to the band’s aesthetic, no more so than Alexander, the opening track of their forthcoming Lions EP, that twists and turns with a pounding insistence. They seem intent on creating big music.".. ..God Is In The Tv Zine.. ...."combine youthful bounciness with a fat guitar sound without making yu want to punch the nearest ugly person".. ..Boyz magazine.. ...."African elephants have big ears. Indian elephants have smaller ears. These Elephants, from Kent, just have good ears. For everyone who thinks the only exciting thing to leave Folkstone is the channel ferry these recent BBC Introducing session guests spectacularly knit together marching rhythms and chugging riffs into the kind of heady spell last seen cast by Mystery Jets.".. ..Greg Cochrane..
