About me:

I'm an egalitarian and an optimist. I live in San Antonio, Texas, and even though I'm a yankee by birth, I've learned to incorporate "y'all" into my vocabulary quite well, thank you. I'm a tool for the man by day and single father by night. I'm an endorphin junkie and I'm usually busy looking for the next opportunity to exhaust myself with some sort of physical endeavor, whether it be going to the gym or jumping on my bike. I think using text-speak when not texting is dumbing down America. Even using it when texting is highly questionable. I use complete sentences with punctuation and capitalization when I'm texting. Yes, I'm just that anal. Don't get me going on grammar. Just remember "it's" is a contraction for "it is", effect is a verb and affect is a noun, don't mix up the usage of "your" and "you're" and we'll get along just fine. I dumped cable TV and am finding it incredibly easy to get along without it. In fact, I'm not sure when I would find time to watch TV. Between working my ass off and cooking homemade meals every night, I'm pretty busy. I can get my fix of the funniest man alive, Jon Stewart, on hulu.com, so what do I need cable for? Just don't take my internet away. But cooking real meals is worth the time. More often than not, when I answer the question "What's for dinner?" from my kids, their reply is "Yummy". That makes the effort wothwhile. And I like it, too. That's the cool thing about being a grown up. Dinner every night is something I like.
