Hourglass
you came into my life when times were rough
like a welcome shower after weeks of drought
happy as i was, deep inside i know
there wasn't enough time for love to grow
fate, i should've known, would play its cruel joke
you were also longing for someone to hold
we clung to each other, trying to fill the hole
but both looking back, not ready to let go
time passed by so fast, little did i know
i've climbed out of my hell, my world is aglow
you eased my agony, you filled the void
before i knew it, you became my world
each night i sleep with your arms as my pillow
safe in your embrace, ready to face tomorrow
but like a stab in the heart, you're quick to show
at the end of the tunnel, there's only sorrow
all the times we share, all the places we go
will just be memories of a love that i lost
the heart that you mended, you will pierce with thorns
thus my destiny, you say, i shouldn't feel remorse
i should just be grateful for the life that i owe
i should be satisfied with the food that you throw
i should not be wanting, i am too far below
in the hourglass that you gave me, the sand is running low
when my love is a trap for you no more
after all the sand with the wind has blown
it kills me to say it but i want you know
i love you more than anyone i've known

Untouchable Love
If I loved you, then I would love you in any way I could.
And if we could not touch, then I would draw strength from your beauty.
And if I went blind, then I would fill my soul with the sound of your voice and the contents of your thoughts until the last spark of my love for you lit the shabby darkness of my dying mind.

Fully Alive -- 08/18/2006
I will not die an unlived life.
I will not live in fear
of falling or catching fire.
I choose to inhabit my days,
to allow my living to open me,
to make me less afraid,
more accessible,
to loosen my heart
until it becomes a wing,
a torch, a promise.
I choose to risk my significance;
to live so that which came to me as seed
goes to the next as blossom
and that which came to me as blossom,
goes on as fruit.fully alive - dawna markova -
Seasons Change -- 09/15/2005
People come into your life for a Reason, a Season, or a Lifetime. When you know which one it is for a person, you will know what to do for that person.
When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a Godsend, and they are! They are there for the reason you need them to be.
Then, without any wrong doing on your part, or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered, and now it is time to move on.
Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They bring you an experience of peace, or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.
LIFE TIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons: things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person, and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.
