Brendan’s story is a fascinating one. In the late-nineties, his former band The Driven had the extremely good fortune of touring with Stereophonics, Green Day and Weezer. The Rathkeale combo also found time to rub Marilyn Manson up the wrong way, to give it some welly at the legendary Reading Festival and even outsell Oasis in the album charts across mainland Europe..... After the band split, Brendan was asked to record some music for a lingerie advert in Italy. Moving to Venice, he began work with drumming hero Manu Katché. He can also boast to having toured with Sting and Jeff Beck, not to mention recording a televised concert in an ancient Sicilian amphitheatre in Taormina as Mount Etna spewed hot molten lava in the background..... .."After a long absence the Limerick man has made a triumphant return to music in the shape of his deeply personal, profound and pastoral self-released, solo album ‘False Witness’. Recorded with Cranberries drummer Fergal Lawler, Markham’s debut is an album of great craft, warmth and emotion that is relentlessly engaging.
