Blue Eagle Music, located on Court Street in uptown Athens, is an old-style "mom and pop" string shop, offering an eclectic mix of new and used stringed instruments and accessories, as well as amps, effects, cables, and other electronic needs. Lessons are available for guitar, banjo, fiddle, bass, mandolin, bagpipes, and middle-eastern percussion. The shop offers maintenance and repair on most stringed instruments. Open Monday 10am - 5pm, Tuesday through Thursday 10am - 7pm, Friday 10am-6pm, Saturday 10am - 5pm, Sunday 1pm - 5pm. "Message" us for directions or more information. Frank McDermott has managed the store for years, and recently became owner. He's the one to talk to if you're interested in trading or selling us your used instrument. He also does most of the maintanance and minor repair work. Amanda is always around and keeps track of lesson scheduling. -
