About me:
I've been fortunate to have been publishing fiction and non-fiction articles since I was 17 years old. I started writing horror, sci fi and dark fantasy fiction in 1985 after selling a story to Dennis Etchison, in whose class I was a student at UCLA. It's been Mr. Toad's Wild Ride ever since! I've been teaching for a bazillion years--high school fine and digital art and before that junior high school English and Art. I do digital art and photography professionally and have a business with my husband creating awesome web sites and providing web services called Markworks. I have some extremely cool friends whom I love a lot and a precious, one-in-a-million Brit husband, Mark Sealey for whom I thank the Big Guy for everyday! I love to laugh and have a kind of irreverent sense of humor. My politics are left, my hand right, my lazy eye left, and my most everything else either center or in the Twilight Zone. I grew up with a dad who did financial management for actors small production companies in Hollywood, so my world was peopled by famous faces who were crazy, fun, and shaped my idea that everybody is really just regular folk out of the limelight.
I have a brother who lives in Oregon and a sister who lives in LA and the coolest mum-in-law who is a revered poet and aging activist in Derby, England. I also have an adopted son Ryan who lives with his partner Frank. I can be lazy and flaky mostly because I work so hard at all my jobs. I run an art therapy program for mentally and physically disabled adults for LETMESAIL.
