.. ******************************************* ******************************************** "Wesley Powell And The Doolin Run Band" one of Northern California's HOTTEST "Original" Country/Southern Rock bands. Each member of this talented line up was hand picked, from several of the "BEST" bands Northern California has to offer. This band is well known throughout California, for its high energy, danceable, unmatched, originals. The band is currently in the process of recording and releasing their much anticipated, first album, self titled "California Gold". Once the CD is complete, they will begin their first national tour. The band is centered around the DEEP, Rich, Baritone vocals, of West Virginia native, Wesley Powell. Wesley, grew up in a small country town, called New Martinsville, WV, on a road now notoriously known as, "DOOLIN RUN". Wes was raised just a few short miles away from Brad Paisley and attended rival high schools. Wesley's Primitive upbringing and love of church, introduced him to Blue Grass and Gospel music and compassion for others, on a very intimate level, at a very early age. Shortly after high school, Wesley became a traveling nurse, working throughout the United States for 12 years, making new friends and touching lives, everywhere he went. Just a few short years ago, Wesley took a 3 month nursing assignment, here in Northern California, a few short days after his arrival, was spotted singing karaoke in a small bar called Darla's, in Vacaville, CA. Immediately a band was formed around his originality and things got HOT Fast and took off in a FLASH! Nobody could have predicted what would happen next. The originals poured out and Wesley's humble, southern upbringing began to shine, through in his lyrics, hundreds of shows later in towns all over Northern California, his new career was born. Though Wesley does not look anything near what you would see in mainstream country, he is as COUNTRY BOY as it gets. This is a ROCK N ROLL Band that plays country, its own way! This Ain't Your Daddy's Honky Tonk, Cowboy music, this is pure and simple, "TRUE", get ya on your feet, Dancing, Original Southern Rock/Country, with a Soulful/Bluesy feel!
