Taking their name from a small mountain town in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado To the residents of a small historic town in the Colorado Mountains, Dotsero is home. To some DOTSERO means “Something Unique” according to Ute Native American legend. To others, It means DOT-ZERO on the earliest geographical railroad maps , but to jazz fans worldwide DOTSERO means Smooth Jazz at its best, full of life energy and spontaneity that few artists in the genre have been able to match. . For jazz enthusiasts, Dotsero is one of the hottest contemporary jazz ensembles on today’s music scene. Combining jazz, pop, R&B and rock, the veteran contemporary jazz outfit creates a catchy, appealing sound and style completely their own. The Dotsero sound is strong blend of rock, fusion, light funk, soulful melodies and wild improvisation that allows the band to move into a number of musical veins. A no nonsense sax and guitar driven thrill ride of energy and excitement. Often featuring the tenor and soprano sax stylings of Stephen Watts, Dotsero has nailed a groove that has been labeled "hummable" by many and enjoyed by all. The group’s music reflects the styles and tastes of its leaders and core members, brothers David and Stephen Watts. Few bands have been able to stay together and focused for even a few years, let alone the over 18 years. Dotsero has been performing and recording for audiences far and wide, as much fun to watch as they are to listen to. The band has performed at major jazz festivals; Red Rocks Amphitheatre, JVC Winter Park Jazz Fest, Jazz Trax Catalina Island Jazz Fest and The Cancun Jazz Festival, among others.
