Back when Doc Watson's opened in 1971, founder Barry Sandrow welcomed everyone, from local residents and area workers, Philadelphia's visitors, doctors and students from Thomas Jefferson. The Philadelphia Eagles and Flyers frequented the place, as well as local and national celebrities. It was so popular, lines would stretch around the corner and up to the Forrest Theatre just to get in! It was the place to see and be seen.

After a couple decades or so, Barry decided to "retire.” He sold off the business and headed to warmer surroundings and relaxing golf courses. Apparently, that was boring. Now, after an absence of many years, Barry and Dr. Watson’s Pub is back!

Joined by Head Chef Frank Hare and Talent Buyer Vince Volz, Doc's is proud to offer good old-fashioned customer service, quality dining at great pub prices, reasonably priced cocktails, and the best live entertainment Philly has to offer.

Whether you just want to relax with some food and maybe a drink, take in some great original music, or dance the night away, there’s always something going on at Dr. Watson’s Pub! There truly is something for everyone here. Stop in and see for yourself before Wednesday Feb 3rd. The Sale of the venue has gone through We Thank Everyone for thie support & Patronage through the years. Stay tuned for information on the new ownership, & planned renovation and / or reopening dates !

Big Congrats to our fiends in dive. A long time back a local Radio DJ suggested I check out his friends band. Told Me how great hey were and how I wouldn't be dissapointed, that they were complete professionals..... He couldn't have been more right !! From A residency of Thursdays Last October at Dr Watson's Pub, to Band on the Battleship with Filter, Back with us for Trust Co. & The Dreaming and countless shows between, these guys have never slowed down, never went backwards, always working, always promoting. They have some big days & choices ahead of them and I wish them the best of Luck with Everything.
