| General | I want to get some regular brown leather shoes and transform them with leather work stamps, like the amazing Mexican and Italian leather things...then stain them to look...dimensional...found some vintage leatherwork books in an old store today...tells all about it...give me some leather, please...I want to learn how to made suitcases and large leather purses, ones that look like the big Prada alligator bag this season...I want to make shoes, but it is so hard...aside from that I am interested in everything but sports, race cars, hunting, cooking, machinery, and ugly looking architecture and landscapes....brrrrr.... | | Music | I am picking songs and groups that are leaping out right now, loved not necessarily in this order:

NOONE describes Louisiana like he does....perfect...Kristin Lavransdatter by Sigrid Undset..must read it again soon...just read "To The Hermitage" which was great...after my trip to Russia it was fun to read about Diderot going to hang out with Catherine the Great at the Hermitage...Almost Innocent (a great book about Louisiana), Possession, The Blue Camillia by Frances Keyes, The Awakening by Kate Chopin,The Devil's Dream and Fair and Tender Ladies by Lee Smith, Memoirs of a Geisha | | Heroes | Grandpa Charlie Chappell, a true philosopher and humanitarian |

About me:
It is absolutely the biggest thrill to wake up slowly and hopefully late, the smell of dark roast coffee wafting through the house mixed with the smell of wooden floors and clean sheets...to look out across a field-like yard with a huge live oak wrapped in chilling mist, gray light filtering through the branches...a cold wind blowing the branches...I am totally thrilled by little things like the smell of a wood fire, scraps of old wallpaper, faces, old wooden houses, the way colors were combined in the 1920's, cool air and leaves blowing in the trees...I love to sit in a rocking chair and look out of the window, thinking. I love to walk forever in the streets of Paris and London, a candle lit in a dark room, the smell and sound of the ocean, watching the picture appear in the Dektol, the way Louise Brooks looked when she was “the girl with the patent leather hair”,figuring out songs on the guitar, playing the guitar through an effects box, low sounds. I would like to hold a little bird but I am afraid..a lot of my life is spent trying to get to the ocean, designing things and writing things down in notebooks...I like to cut out things I like and glue them in books, then looking at these books makes me really happy and inspired.I am also trying to get back to Deltaville, a place I spent a lot of my time as a child, by a river..fresh fish never again have tasted like they did there...I love drones, guitars open tuned...I am amazed by my children and the things they do..I like to hear Gabie recite poetry..I like to wear amazing clothes, usually antique kimonos or something from Worthmore, I love laughing with friends and sharing ideas..I love where the photos of Atget take my mind..I want to do old photography techniques but it is so time consuming...I want to make daguerretypes..I want to build things out of wood..
