Happy New Year Gyert! Hope 2010 brings you lots of happiness and joy! Hope you and yours are feeling ok now..... Take care and stay safe, I keep you and your family in my thought m
I'm good thanks, although am recovering from injuring my shoulder, which has given me a pig of a back ache but apart from that everything's pretty hunky dorey. Had a great day today with the family and it's now nearing 1am in the UK and am chillin' at home with a beer. Passed my psychology course so am going to be doing an MSc next year that will qualify me to train as a clinical psychologist if I wish to do so.
Oh yea the Halloween is another thing, we're slowly getting used to the idea of Halloween in japan too but not quite. Yet. Soon it'll be another Christmas lol
Of course the silly things are often fun even "macarena" dance lol and even if it's just because "everyone else is doing it". I'm not on complete denial of silly things at all. I guess as for Christmas after knowing what the "real" thing is like I can no longer be satisfied by the imitation lol
Yes I understand that the real meaning of Christmas has been fading in many countries also, but I think the biggest difference is that Japan is not a Christian country. I cannot help feeling that most Japanese are just "faking it" without even understanding the history or meaning of Christmas at all.
Anyway, Christmas depends on the state of the mind and the spirit in each one of us so happy Christmas my friend, and wish you all the best in the coming year!
I'm happy you enjoy the pictures I send, this will be the last Christmas comment or I'll look like a fanatic.
Christmas is not in tinsel and lights and outward show. The secret lies in an inner glow. It's lighting a fire inside the heart. Good will and joy a vital part. It's higher thought and a greater plan. It's glorious dream in the soul of man.

Living in Japan where there's no tradition of celebrating Christmas, where it has become just another excuse to get drunk or just another holiday for lovers, I desperately miss that special Christmas atmosphere I could feel when lived in Europe and in America.
Thank you for your friendship Gyert, love from Japan, m
