It is not really theatre, but this is the closest I can come on the website. What I really do is give lectures at universities, colleges, high schools, churches, any place that is willing to have me speak about wrongful convictions.

..
Jeffrey Deskovic: Criminal Justice Advocate, Professional Speaker, & Exoneree
..
Since my release from prison as a DNA Exonoree in September 2006, following 16 years of incarceration when I was 17 years old, I have dedicated myself to giving motivational speeches at universities, high schools and community organization about the causes of wrongful convictions and the need for appropriate services to reintegrate exonorees back into the fabric of society. My mission is to raise public awareness about the need for changes in state legislation to reduce these miscarriages of justice, and to provide fair compensation and services when mistakes happen. This includes
discussion of:
..
· systemic problems with the criminal justice
system
..
. dynamics of false confessions
..
. the elements of a re-integration program
..
· prison life
..
As examples of the kinds of presentations I am involved in, I was the keynote speaker at a 3 day national conference on False Confessions, sponsored by the American Psychological Association at University of Texas El Paso on Sept. 26,2007.
..
I also write articles for The Westchester Guardian, on issues pertaining to the criminal justice system, the death penalty, expansion of the use of DNA to release the wrongfully convicted, and services to help reintegrate exonorees. I frequently work with New Yorkers Against the Death Penalty.

Who I'd like to meet: I am looking to connect with individuals, organizations, school and university officials, law schools, and criminal justice programs and professionals, who have similar concerns. My purpose would be to share ideas and build a network.
Because there is no compensation for exonorees until these are won through litigation, I am supporting myself financially through presentations and writing. I would be grateful for referrals to situations where I might give a presentation or write an article.
